TMC congratulates Dr. Eva Littman, owner of Red Rock Fertility in Las Vegas, Nevada, on her recent graduation from the SBA Emerging Leaders program.
In 2015, Nevada was included for the first time in the national specialized SBA program “Emerging Leaders Training,” and in December, 14 participants graduated, bringing new skills to their existing businesses.
The SBA’s award-winning Emerging Leaders program delivers an intensive, eight-month-long, business training for strategic growth to these small business CEOs, helping them to grow their companies in an exponential way. To be eligible for the program, businesses are required to be represented by a C-level executive, must have been in business for at least three years, employ at least one employee besides the business owner and generate between $400,000 and $10 million in annual gross revenues.
The Emerging Leaders initiative has trained more than 2,400 promising small business owners in underserved communities nationwide, and its impact continues to expand in helping small businesses to grow and create jobs throughout the country. Sixty-two percent of surveyed participants reported an increase in revenue while 70 percent of those surveyed reported maintaining or creating new jobs in their communities.
The Emerging Leaders course in Nevada began in April 2015. Throughout the course, experts from areas crucial to business success work with the participants to apply the learning to their own situations. The business owner’s growth is tracked over a three-year period following the program.
“It’s difficult for small business owners who wear many hats to take time out from running their business to develop a strategy for growth,” Bob Holguin, SBA Nevada district director, said. “Emerging Leaders training is valuable because it is a disciplined approach that helps them plan for the next step. We commend all 14 participants for making this investment in their companies’ futures and we wish them a successful new year as they forge ahead. We look forward to welcoming our next class in 2016.”
A public graduation event was held on December 10, 2015, with key note remarks by Lt. Governor, Mark Hutchison and SBA Regional Administrator, Donna Davis.
