SBA Green Energy Success Story: 9to5 Seating

TMC Financing helped 9to5 Seating finance the purchase and ground-up construction of a new headquarter and manufacturing center. By ‘going green,’ 9to5 was able to qualify for a larger SBA 504 loan. The cost for the green energy enhancements was included in the total loan amount. This allowed for less upfront costs, and helping 9to5 to retain the working capital needed.

The building was designed with the environment in mind, using recycled material wherever possible.
“The building’s design features focused on saving energy by bringing in natural daylight via a larger number of skylights and windows than most other buildings. We used white scrim under the roof; we installed about 500 solar panels on the roof, and many other features, which earned us ‘LEED Gold Certification.’ This is quite an accomplishment for a manufacturer in California,” said Darius Mir, CEO of 9to5 Seating.

9to5 Seating was founded in 1982 and is a vertically integrated manufacturer, specializing in the design and production of ergonomic office seating to accommodate the rigorous demands of today’s office environments. 9to5Seating prides itself on being able to offer the customers options only available by products manufactured in the United States at competitive pricing to foreign manufacturers.
