Historic New York Hot Dog Brand Expands to Chandler, Arizona

Ted’s Hot Dogs recently opened its 11th location in Chandler, Arizona, marking a key milestone in the company’s continued growth.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring Ted’s Hot Dogs to Chandler,” says Evan Ortolani, President. “This expansion is a big step forward for us, and we’re proud to continue growing while staying true to our roots.”

This latest expansion reflects the company’s continued growth into new markets while building on a strong operational foundation. Evan Ortolani leveraged the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 504 loan program in partnership with TMC Financing to purchase and develop the new location.

Founded in Buffalo, New York, Ted’s Hot Dogs has built a loyal following around its charcoal-broiled hot dogs and commitment to quality, expanding its footprint while maintaining the consistency that has defined the brand for decades.

From Leasing to Ownership with SBA 504 Financing

Located at 2700 E. Germann Rd., the Chandler restaurant is a newly constructed, 3,500-square-foot, drive-thru designed for efficiency and customer convenience.

For Ted’s Hot Dogs, moving from leasing to property ownership represents an important step forward. Owning real estate provides greater control over occupancy costs, day-to-day operations, and overall customer experience. These advantages are especially important for a growing, multi-location business.

To make this transition possible, the company partnered with TMC Financing to leverage the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 504 loan program. SBA 504 financing is specifically designed to help businesses purchase, construct or refinance owner-occupied commercial real estate.

The SBA 504 program offers several key benefits:

  • 25-year fixed-rate financing – providing stability and protection from rising interest rates
  • 10% down payment requirement – compared to conventional loans, helping preserve capital
  • Improved cash flow – allowing businesses to reinvest in operations and future growth
  • Ability to build equity through ownership – rather than continuing to lease

For growing multi-location businesses, SBA 504 financing can play an important role in supporting expansion while preserving working capital for future opportunities.

For Ortolani, this program made it possible to invest in property ownership while maintaining financial flexibility across multiple business locations.

Chris Bane, SVP Business Development Officer

Members of TMC Financing’s Arizona team attended a preview event ahead of the grand opening, celebrating alongside company leadership and gaining a firsthand look at the brand’s newest location.

“It’s always exciting to see a business with such a strong foundation continue to grow,” said Chris Bane, Business Development Officer at TMC Financing. “Projects like this highlight how the SBA 504 program can support not just expansion, but long-term investment. Ted’s has built something special over generations, and we’re proud to support their continued success.”

Creating Local Impact

Beyond expanding its footprint, the Chandler location is expected to create approximately 15 jobs, contributing to the local economy and bringing new energy to the surrounding community. The opening reflects not only the company’s continued growth, but also its investment in the communities it serves.

Looking Ahead

With 11 locations now established, Ted’s Hot Dogs is well positioned for continued expansion, supported by a strategy that emphasizes operational consistency and long-term investment. By pairing expansion with long-term investment in real estate ownership, Ted’s Hot Dogs continues to build a scalable foundation for future growth. As part of its growth plans, the company is exploring additional opportunities with TMC Financing, reinforcing its commitment to scalable, sustainable development.
