President and Chief Executive Officer
Omar Salah is the President and Chief Executive Officer of TMC Financing, the nation’s largest SBA 504 lender. He leads the organization in its mission to provide affordable capital to small businesses for purchasing and expanding into commercial real estate—fueling job creation and long-term economic stability in communities across the United States. Under his leadership, TMC continues to build on its legacy as a top Certified Development Company (CDC) and industry innovator.
Prior to joining TMC, Salah served as Executive Vice President and National Director of Small Business Banking at Comerica Bank, where he was a member of the senior leadership team. He held full P&L responsibility for the nationwide small business segment and led all client-facing activities, credit risk, operations, product strategy, and community engagement. He spearheaded a multi-year transformation strategy that introduced Comerica’s first small business digital loan program, Zelle for Small Business, and award-winning treasury packages. His leadership also brought forward innovative programs such as SizeUp by Comerica, Comerica SmallBizCo-op®, and Comerica CoWorkSpaces™, contributing to the bank’s Outstanding CRA rating.
Earlier in his career, Salah was Managing Director and Head of Small Business Banking at MUFG Union Bank, where he oversaw more than 200,000 clients and led the development of the bank’s small business division. His initiatives included launching banker and virtual relationship manager channels, automating lending up to $500,000, and centralizing treasury services. He also led Union Bank’s PPP rollout, delivering nearly $3 billion in loans to 15,000 small businesses, and played a key role in the bank’s rise as a top 10 SBA lender nationwide.
Salah holds a doctorate from the University of Southern California, where his research focused on human performance improvement and organizational trust. He also earned an MBA from UC Irvine and a bachelor’s degree from Cal State San Marcos. A recognized thought leader, he is a frequent speaker on small business, entrepreneurship, and professional development.
Deeply committed to education and community service, Salah serves on the board of directors for Junior Achievement of San Diego County and is a committee member with the Consumer Bankers Association. He previously served on the UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Business Leadership Council. A San Diego native, he resides there with his wife and two sons.
