Raymond Monahan has 25 years of experience in processing SBA loans. His 12 years at the U.S. Small Business Administration, including three as chief of finance, give him great expertise and insight in getting loans approved, while maintaining strict default-risk management measures. At the SBA, Ray also developed training programs for lenders and business owners on underwriting, business valuations and other financial topics.
Ray joined TMC in 2014 to manage our fast-growing loan portfolio. He reorganized the loan servicing department and improved portfolio performance to earn preferred-lender status with the SBA. Under his leadership, the servicing team made significant improvements in workflow efficiencies, documentation and compliance. His expertise also has helped minimize loss exposure for TMC and the SBA.
Ray has also helped the TMC team consistently deliver market-leading turnaround times on loan applications submitted to the SBA.
Prior to TMC, Ray managed SBA lending at United American Bank and Bridge Bank, giving him a unique understanding of how to solve loan challenges in ways that benefit the borrower, the bank and the SBA.
Ray is a graduate of the master’s program at the Pacific Coast Bankers School, at the University of Washington in Seattle.
