Women’s Initiative’s My Business Action Plan workshop will guide you through a self-assessment of your business idea and help you develop next steps to launching your enterprise. This is the first in a series of classes designed to support your planning marketing and other business management skills that will give you the tools necessary to start or expand your own business. Women’s Initiative focuses specifically on the needs of low-income women who are exploring a business idea. You do not need to register for the session. I want to make sure I’m headed in the right direction so I’m doing some market research and am interviewing people in those groups to get their opinions.”

Subsidized Employment for San Francisco Employers JOBS NOW! is a subsidized employment program funded by stimulus dollars and administered by San Francisco Human Services Agency. The Human Services Agency will reimburse the cost of 100% of the wages for any JOBS NOW! employee you employ through September 30 2010. Employers are required only to pay for payroll taxes any fringe benefits that employees typically receive and supervision of participants.

Stimulus Opportunities for Small Business The Stimulus Opportunities for Small Business program is a FREE half-day session featuring buyers for state and federal government projects as well as buyers from large corporations. It will also feature local panelists able to offer insight into the latest developments in surety bonding and local workforce investment initiatives.

Claim or create your business listing on Google for free More people are now looking to online search engines for local information than to any other source. Google offers a free service the Local Business Center which allows you to take control of your business listing on Google or to add listings that aren’t already appearing. Google also recently launched a dashboard in the Local Business Center which shows you how people found your business on Google including what they searched for before finding your listings and how many looked for driving directions to your business.
