Barbara Morrison Inducted Into Northern California Real Estate Women Of Influene Hall Of Fame

SAN FRANCISCO, CA. (Oct 10, 2011) –Barbara Morrison, President and CEO of TMC Financing, a leading Certified Development Company (CDC) providing SBA commercial real estate loans, is one of four influential women newly inducted into the Northern California Real Estate Women of Influence Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honorees were selected for their contributions to the commercial real estate industry, and were recognized at an awards ceremony on October 4, 2011 at the Omni Hotel in San Francisco, California.

“Ms. Morrison’s role in the commercial real estate industry goes back to 1981, when she founded TMC,” said Sonia Ransom, Esq., partner at Allen Matkins and chair of the committee that selected Morrison for the award. “Since then, she has become one of the most respected and admired business women in the San Francisco Bay Area.

“Under her leadership, TMC has helped more than 3,900 small business owners purchase property to grow and expand their businesses with over $6.4 billion in SBA 504 financing. These loans have resulted in the creation of over 27,000 jobs.”

Morrison was chosen to be recognized by a panel of nine judges that included representatives from Sares-Regis Group, W3 Partners, Skyline Construction Inc., BOMA, and the Swig Company LLC. According to Ransom, “candidates were evaluated on their contributions and achievements in commercial real estate in the last 18 months, as well as their efforts to promote and advance women in the commercial real estate industry.”

“I am honored to be joining the ranks of these outstanding women business leaders,” exclaims Morrison. “I am gratified by TMC’s phenomenal growth over the years, and am looking forward to continuing to provide a pathway to property ownership for entrepreneurs. Over her professional career, Morrison has earned numerous awards for her leadership and advocacy for women and small business owners, including being named among “Women Who Make a Difference” by the SF Commission on the Status of Women, recipient of the San Francisco Business Times Women in Leadership Award, the Arthur Goodman Achievement and Diversity Award from the National Association of Development companies, and a U.S. Small Business Administration Women in Business Advocate Award.

Among her many professional affiliations, Morrison serves as a member of the California Small Business Task Force of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and as a Board Member of the Women’s Leadership Board of the Harvard Kennedy School. She has been active locally with the Financial Women’s Association (FWA),

A former mayor of the city of Belvedere and former City Council member, she has provided leadership for a number of community organizations, including the Belvedere-Tiburon Library Foundation and currently serves an advisory trustee for the Belvedere Community Foundation.
